1998, Interscope Records, parent company of Death Row Records, severed all ties with the company. Doctor Dre, the Founder, President and Producer leaves months before the announcement. That same year Doctor Dre signs Slim Shady AKA Eminem chose Aftermath record label, after hearing the rapper on a Los Angels radio station. The Slim Shady LP has dropped in 1999, and its number two on the Billboard charts in a matter of weeks.
