On Friday, the two signed agreements related to the economy, health, tourism, education, science and technology, according to local media. As part of the agreements, Japan has agreed to ease restrictions on pork imports from Mexico and has confirmed its interest in shale gas development in the Latin American country following reforms from Mexico to open up its state-owned energy sector to private competition Abe is accompanied by a delegation of Japanese businessmen and women who are participating in the 31st plenary meeting of the Mexican Business Council for Foreign Trade, Investment and Technology (COMCE).
