VIDEO DESCRIPTION:

Once upon a time Latvians were mighty seafarers, with overseas colonies stretching as far as Tobago and Gambia. Centuries later Latvians still have an inner seafarer spirit, that now manifests in unusual ways, such as the annual Milk Carton Boat Race. Held for the 11th time in the central Latvian city of Jelgava, the annual race features dozens of boats made of empty milk containers, assembled together in the most ingenious ways. And one contestant assures that these boats are quite sturdy.
