The unveiling of an animal celebrity, brought back from death. Two years after he died, Knut, the beloved polar bear of the Berlin zoo, returned to the limelight when his stuffed remains went on display at the city's natural history museum Friday. The life size stuffed Knut has all the characteristics that made him world famous, says the museum's director general JOHANNES VOGEL. (SOUNDBITE) (German) DIRECTOR GENERAL, BERLIN NATURAL HISTORY MUSEUM, JOHANNES VOGEL, SAYING: "I believe that Knut will be accepted by the public because the sculpture is incredibly dignified. We already spoke to people who knew Knut very well when he was still alive and they recognize their Knut." Knut shot to fame when he was rejected by his mother and was hand-reared instead by his keeper Thomas Doerflein. The world mourned his death at age four from a brain disorder, but the life size display now lets fans of little Knut watch him undisturbed for a long time to come.
