KELLY EDWARDS: Hi. I’m Kelly Edwards, and here’s another GMC Trade Secret.

When you’re out shopping for recessed lighting, there’s actually a couple of choices that you can make. The first one is if you have access to your attic, you can pick up one exactly like this. Now, what you want to do is go up into your attic. You slip it into the hole that you’ve made, and then you can actually extend out these arms here to attach it.

But if you can’t access your attic, you certainly can go with this one, which is the retrofit. This one’s quite easy, actually. You just have to drill your hole from the bottom up and then take this piece first, slip it up into the hole, and then pop it into place. As soon as you do, these clips will come down to secure it.
