Born May 12, 1907, Katharine Hepburn is a Four-Time Academy Award winner which also makes her the record holder for the most awards for acting given to someone by the academy. This is probably why in 1999, the American Film Institute named Katharine the number one female star in their Greatest American Screen Legends’ List.
During her first leading role on Broadway, a scout was so impressed by her performance that he asked her to do a screen test. Although Katharine is only making $80.00 to $100.00 a week in her usual fashion, she demanded $1,500.00 but when the studio saw the screen test they were so impressed they agreed to pay her that much.
It was then later in 1942that she met Spencer Tracy when she was starting opposite of them and the two fell in love behind the scenes which probably was one of the first ever Hollywood Romances in the Silver Screen.
She died of natural causes on June 29th 2003 in Connecticut.
