A top story today is - not top - but topless.

 

The Royal family is outraged after the French Closer Magazine says it has exclusive pictures of Kate Middleton - sunbathing her breasts.

 

And by Friday morning - nearly every cable network was on it.

 

“What appears to be Kate Middleton topless.” (HLN)

 

“...Photos of Kate Middleton have been published.” (ABC)

 

“The photo taken during a private vacation, on private property.” (CNN)

 

On Twitter and across the web people scrambled - searching ‘Kate Middleton topless’ ... 

 

But the most they could find were likely these well-Photoshopped pics Gawker posted.

 

On CNN , anchors wondered: How did this happen?

 

“Where is the security?” 

“I don't get this. This seems like such an amateurish error.”

“If you're Kate Middleton you don't go topless.”

 

Or maybe you do -- if you live in Europe.

 

“I'm thinking that for Europeans, sunbathing topless especially at a private house might be considered a normal thing to do, but in the United States you’re like what!?” ( HLN )

 

Britain’s Royal Family is said to be considering legal options against the magazine and said this incident was similar to the overpowering paparazzi during Princess Diana’s life.
