Hi everybody! Today I am going to teach you how to add a new menu. Currently we have three menus. We have Main Menu, we have Other Menu, and we have My Site. Let's say that we want to add a new menu, and call it favorite links, for example.
So we click on Menu, Menu Manager, and we click on New, so here I am going to add, I am going to call it Favorite Links, and I am going to just use it for all the other boxes, it's not really important what they are right now. Now I can see my New menu right here. Now what I want to do is add a few menu items to these New menu.
So let's go and manage this menu. We can go to Menu, Favorite Links, as we can see there are no menu items yet. So I am going to add the first one. And I am going to use an External Link, because I am going to link to my website. So I am going to give it a title, and I am going to enter the URL here. And here at the bottom I am going to choose to operate in New Window, because it's on a different website, and every time you link to a different website, you want to open it in a new window. And I am going to click Save.
Now that we have at least one menu item, we can publish this menu, and the thing to remember here, is that all menus are also modules. So let's take a look at the Module Manager, and try to find it. So I am going to hit Filter, and here it is right here, that's the menu we just added. As you can see it's unpublished, and you can also that the module position is left, which is where we want it. So all we have to do, is click the publish, unpublish button, and it will make it published.
Okay, now that it's published, we can take a look on the front-end, press Refresh, here it is. This is our New menu with the one item that I added, and it's on the left position, and this is how you add a menu. Thanks for watching!
