Hello everyone welcome to kahunasfoodandwine.com. The gallaxy’s most popular food and wine show. So we did a little episode on Taylor ham so today I’m going to do the classic Taylor ham. Breakfast with just Taylor ham making cheese on a roll again, it’s a —for more of them to in everything they left the standard but we’re going to do it on classic Jersey hard roll and we’ll get that going in two seconds.
Also these are just an FYI and kind of email a few people, the comments are not working. They’re working you can leave a comment I just can’t reply your comments via email. It’s not replying like 20 people and they want it back. So I’m trying to fix that out and most trying to implement a new comment section so that’s kind of conversational kind of thing. But that’s it, so let’s get making our Taylor ham, egg and cheese on a roll.
Here’s our Taylor ham box and again, you can watch the episode that aired a few episodes ago. I’m explaining what Taylor ham is basically it’s a New Jersey mystery meat created in Jersey and by John Taylor. And so anyway what you want to do with Taylor Ham is you want to put a slice right through to the middle like that otherwise the Taylor ham will curl up and not give you proper sandwich building capability.
I use a little tiny drop of butter to the bottom of the pan not necessary. So we’re just going to lay our Taylor ham in and got the heat three quarters at the way up and we’re going to get that. I like my Taylor ham brown. So how are we like yours and try to make it. I don’t like it too — I like it some brown to it. Anyway I’m going to cook this up and I will come back to it.
As you can see the magic is starting to happen, the Taylor ham they’re starting to open up like little pack in it and they’re starting to ease out some of their goodness so we’re about the half way point with cooking that. So I’m going to give these bad boys a flip and they’re some nice browning and caramelization on there. Now this is amazingly enough. They don’t stain off a ton of fat in the pan. Make it up a little bit enough for a prior right on but I like a baking where this pan—the equal weight of baking will be flooded with pat at this point.
So we give them another minute or two. All right so our Taylor ham is done. Look at that nice and brown. So, we’re going to do is just kind of set these off to the side like this so they kind of stay warm. I will take them out of the pan. I don’t want them to pull it off and now I’m going to add our egg.
Now, this is also is an area where there are some —a lot of places will put their egg in a quick bowl and just give it a quick whip and then do it. I happen like the fried egg, just my preference and then my other pat feed is I just can’t stand when they take their roll cut it and salt and pepper the roll. Rising up on the wall I want my salt and pepper and my egg and you don’t need much salt because the pork roll is salty to begin with.
So, here’s our Jersey roll it’s basically a hard roll usually sprinkled with a few poppy seeds on top. Usually going to made dust other cornmeal on the bottom of it. So this is what we’re going to cut up. This is where our breakfast sound it’s just going to on. I’m only using one egg obviously normally I use to but some of the places when you get it you’re getting one egg with three pieces of power ham.
Okay so now I’m going to add our cheese. Traditionally you know one slice of cheese and this is from the deli-counter. Kind of just need that deli-counter cheese. I suppose to the one in the little package. I’m going to go two slices so we’ll get that in our there now. All right so now the assembly of our sandwich. Now I’m a salt, pepper, ketchup guy. My wife is not so that’s going to be up to you. I like a little on the bottom, I like a little on the top. And then you could see the cheese started to melt, I cracked my egg yolk real quick. I’m going to scoop out that and layer our Taylor ham like so, close that bad boy up.
So the Taylor ham, egg and cheese. Anyway, the Taylor ham, egg and cheese can be a game changer when you’re in your youth. And you’re out especially down the shore. I met a few young fellas when you’re at the bar, working your magic. First of all the key is to get to the bar when you’re out of shore, with Jersey shore, so say you have a chance. Once we accomplish that scope out a group of girls, a couple of girls you’ve got to see what growing girls they have with them, they don’t have. You start mingling you want to make sure they’re staying somewhere down the shore or they have the ability to stay over.
You’ve got to find out these preliminary things first. So, once you find that out that they haven’t have a shore house and they’re on for the weekend with a hotel room then—and you know either point—Bell Mar would be at DJ’s or bar A or whatever that was named in the house bar. Look at the house with the huge house that was a bar also.
Anyway, so, you’re making your moves, you kept doing good that he after you meet a girl establish the perimeter. The guidelines in order to get them for the next step would then be getting them back to your house and that will always be the biggest next step.
So, let’s say got that accomplished, you get the girls back to your house, now you know the night is everyone’s party and drinking and having some fun then you’re getting to the next stages of some grouping going on, girls sitting on guys laps or sometimes at the end of the night you’ve got to take what’s available and you might be sitting on the girl’s lap you don’t know.
You’re getting the hot and heavy into it then you’ve got a suggestion why don’t stay over. That’s going to be met with several different responses and many of which are going to be bad. However, once you get them waffling, well I don’t know. Maybe I should in maybe I should then you bang out and I tell you what, why don’t you say and in the morning I’ll go get us some Taylor Ham egg and cheeses on the bagel. Done, deal, sealed, delivered, damn on, go find your little box, reap the foil pack, hit the bedroom because you’re in.
Number one nobody wants to eat in line when you’re down the shore online at a bagel place for breakfast. You’re hangover, you smell everybody, online smells. You know people online that whatever the stains are on your shirts are probably puke. You don’t want to be on that line for anything. It’s a game changer. Most likely you’re going to be getting a little some and something when you throw out the Taylor ham, egg and cheese on a bagel.
So, now it could be a game changer. The other way also, I’ve had it worked against me where you’ve been living a girl and do nothing but finish your business and get to out the door as fast as possible. You don’t want to see the next day, the next week anything. Maybe the next night, and then they throw. You know maybe I’ll stay. No you know I sleep late blah, blah. You know what I’ll go get some Taylor ham, egg and cheese in the morning.
Now your stock, now, what you’re going to do? Like I take them out it’s even been so far catch. You’ve been with a girl, you get it going on and you know you’re in. There’s no question about it. Going out at hot and heavy mixing, but you know what you have a toothbrush with it you have some water to rinse do you continue do you not continue. You know why won’t she says, the way to get some breakfast in the morning. Here’s my lighting and she throws out the Taylor ham, egg and cheese. You’ve got to go back in. I mean see how to take one for the team and since you were the team and that is one you take at work. But anyway Taylor ham, egg and cheese aphrodisiac, relationship former and it taste good.
