Jennie Garth Interview
Audra Lowe: Back in the day she was the most popular teen and the most desirable zip code of Beverly Hills but now the beautiful and talented Jenny Garth is also a loving wife, mother and a supporter of a lot of causes that are near and dear to her heart. She’s here in our studio today. Good to have you here.
Jennie Garth: Hi.
Audra Lowe: And with the fabulous haircut I must say.
Jennie Garth: Thank you.
Audra Lowe: I’m loving this, yes we do. Now when they asked you when you’re talking about the 90210 making a comeback did they contact you or did you contact them how did that whole thing go down.
Jennie Garth: A friend of mine was actually the producer on the new show so he came over to my living room and gave me the hard pitch yeah.
Audra Lowe: Direct access huh? People probably ask you this all the time and probably because of the fact that the show was so big and people kind of grew up with you guys you know do you still keep in contact with toy and Shannon and everybody else or is it like a lot of other jobs where you kind of move on how does that work.
Jennie Garth: You know we’ve all kind of moved on and we all have families now and our own careers and things are crazy for each of us.
Audra Lowe: Right.
Jennie Garth: You know just like everyone else but you know if everyone have them called me and needed something from me I would be there for them and we’re kind of like family and most of them a lot of other shows I have done you know we really had a long time to bond with each other and be there with each other so I love them.
Audra Lowe: You guys grew up so much. Tori was just here the other day with her children’s book. You guys all grown up with kids and families is it a trip to look back and see how young you guys were and you were either single maybe dating and now look at you, you got the whole family life going on?
Jennie Garth: It just seems like another world. It just like another time you know.
Audra Lowe: Right.
Jennie Garth: But we were care free.
Audra Lowe: Life is different.
Jennie Garth: Uh-huh.
Audra Lowe: And you’ve got three girls correct?
Jennie Garth: We have three girls.
Audra Lowe: So do you and your husband have date night? Do you guys plan that?
Jennie Garth: We try, we tried.
Audra Lowe: He’s an actor as well obviously people know who Twilight so he’s an actor so your schedules must be pretty crazy right?
Jennie Garth: He’s actually filming a show called Nurse Jackie which shoots in New York so we’re kind of bicoastal right now.
Audra Lowe: Okay, but you seem very calm like you have it together.
Jennie Garth: You know its’ okay it’s just there, it’s not going to be forever.
Audra Lowe: Yeah, yeah.
Jennie Garth: It’s a good show.
Audra Lowe: Now speaking of the girls you know you have a tight reign on them you want to make sure that they’re safe and I know that you partnered up with an organization about safe walking to school initiatives is that correct can you tell me about that?
Jennie Garth: I partnered with DreamWorks natural cleaning products and they are hosting this campaign which is walk to school. It’s walk to school month, the whole month of October.
Audra Lowe: Okay.
Jennie Garth: So if you go to the homepage or the Facebook page for DreamWorks you can sign up and earn points and every time you walk to school and ride you bike to school you get points and your school is eligible for a 5,000 grant.
Audra Lowe: That’s great. Do your kids walk to school or do they want to walk to school you know some kids want to?
Jennie Garth: Well I always wanted to I lived really far in the country and that was never an option for me but this is something you know even if you do live out in the country and it’s too far drive halfway or drive 3 quarters of the way.
Audra Lowe: Exactly.
Jennie Garth: Park the car it’s a really great time to be with your kids, talk and you know--
Audra Lowe: Bonding it closer.
Jennie Garth: Yeah you’re helping the environment and you’re teaching them valuable lessons at the same time.
Audra Lowe: Well its good to have you here.
Jennie Garth: Thank you.
Audra Lowe: And again I’m loving that hairstyle very, very much. Alright you guys want to get more information on the Walk to School Challenge and if you want to sign up you can easily do that just by going our website at Better TV.com and then click it on the link.
