Both Jennie Garth and Peter Facinelli were quick to squash infidelity rumors as the cause of their split!

Jennie and Peter's divorce announcement came as a shock to pretty much everyone, and we all wondered why?? Accusations of an affair on Peter's part immediately spread, but the couple wants us to know that cheating was not the reason!

In a joint statement, Peter and Jennie said quote: “There are rumors out there which are completely untrue and hurtful to our family. We just want to make it very clear — there are no third parties involved.”

Peter was reportedly cheating with a woman he met in Vancouver while filming "Twilight." Jennie and Peter have had marital problems ever since Peter skyrocketed to fame with the hit movie series and the two have reportedly been living separately for a while.

The timing of the breakup could be awkward, or even strategically timed, depending on who you ask, the family's new reality show is scheduled to air on CMT next month.
