Italian Modern Kitchen Makeover
ColorSplash with David Bromstad
Brent: David is on his way over to take a look at our kitchen.
Antonia: He has a way always to accentuate the positive aspect of a space and I’m curious to see what are the positive aspects for him of this space.
How are you I’m very excited to get to meet you?
David: We’re are you from?
Antonia: I’m Italian. I’m from Italy.
David: The accent is just lovely.
Antonia: Thank you. You got to hear a lot of it today.
Brent: We want to see a modern Milan style integrated with more of a natural San Francisco style.
Antonia: So this is the kitchen.
David: It’s nice, it’s nice. Let me take it in. Love the appliances. It’s a good sized kitchen. It has got a great bone. It has got high ceilings. It’s very open. What would you like see done in here.
Antonia: The cabinet face how it looks.
David: Right. A little native.
Antonia: Very native monotonous and monotone.
David: So basically you want it cleaned up and some color.
Antonia: Right we would like to see, really some diversity.
David: So maybe one you know continuous thing on the bottom versus a different something on top.
Antonia: Yeah exactly.
Brent: We go to Italy almost every year and we do go through a lot of Italian kitchen so we just see most people have more modern kitchens in Italy than here.
David: Right you have some color inspiration that you can show me.
Antonia: I was thinking this burgundy.
David: Yeah something look like this.
Brent: I went over and I got the kind of this yellow greenish olive oil, you like that.
Antonia: I don’t mind that.
David: We’ll be taking like a green citrus or yellow citrus and combine that with a really deeper, you’re going to create a lot of visual and just and then that jaw dropping moment will happen.
David: Now you’re going to trust me.
Antonia: It’s very genius what you just said.
David: Check it out.
Antonia: Oh my god.
Brent: Oh my god. Wow!
Antonia: I need just a second, just second. To sink in, I mean.
Brent: The design is just breath taking. Bravo!
Antonia: Yeah bravo! Bravisimo.
David: You guys have a great base, really beautiful, you have an amazing color top and backsplash and all we need to do is re-phase the cabinets. It was an easy fix for kitchens wise you know and you guys picked great colors, it goes well with your house. It makes that wow impact and we got rid of the orange walls and we’ve made them almost white added the gray and the green admit really warms up the space.
Brent: Look how cool the candles are?
David: Because they’re dramatic and they’re really, really long and over sized it just gives it more that impact and it’s kind of like jewelry for the cabinet. You have a table that has no visual weights but a lot of presence it’s been a really cool sofa back there.
Antonia: I love it.
David: Now it’s one continuous space with the carpets being the same with white chairs, a table and perfect another seating area, so you wanted the red and you wanted the green and so by combining those to you really taking your personality and your personality bring it together I just helped.
