The U.K.’s BBC and Sky News have the details of the attack. “It was a bomb we understand that was planted on the bus. Hamas have claimed responsibility, they say it was a natural response in their words to the Israeli air strikes in Gaza.” “U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton condemned the attack as she held meeting with both Israeli and Palestinian representatives in an attempt to end the week long conflict.” According to the Telegraph , “Celebratory gunfire rang out in Gaza City when local radio stations reported news of the Tel Aviv explosion.” Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says “This was a terrorist attack.”  A correspondent for Al Jazeera reports Israeli officials have now isolated another area in central Tel Aviv where they fear there might be another explosive package. “They are definitely considering the possibility that this is not one isolated incident and that there may be more explosive devices in the area.” CNN’s Wolf Blitzer says the incident — the first of its kind in Israel in more than 6 years — puts added pressure on Prime Minister Netanyahu while placing a shadow over the possible Israeli-Gaza peace process. “[It’s] a delicate situation right now because already those rockets and missiles coming in from Gaza to southern Israel, hundreds of thousands of Israelis are living in fear there.” Despite the recent bomb attack in Tel Aviv and multiple Hamas rockets landing inside Israeli territory, the Guardian reports the fatalities in the eight-day conflict have been uneven. “The death toll in Gaza since the start of operation ‘Pillar of defence’ rose on Tuesday to 138, including 34 children, according to Palestinian medical officials. Two Israelis were killed on Tuesday, a soldier and a civilian contractor. Their deaths brought the total number of Israelis killed by Gazan rocket fire since the start of the operation to five.”  According to the New York Times , U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is meeting with Egyptian President Mohammad Morsi in Cairo on Wednesday in hopes of brokering a peace plan to end the conflict.
