Hello out there, welcome to Total Trainings Photoshop CS3 Essentials. I am Chad Perkins, an Adobe certified instructor, and expert in Photoshop, but even more than that, I am just a hug Photoshop fan. What could we do Photoshop? Well I am glad you asked. Using Photoshop obviously we can correct image problems, red eye, unwanted blemishes, color problems, brightness problems, and so on, but what many people do not realize is that we could also use Photoshop to create beautiful digital paintings, create synthetic photo realistic textures, and other special effects. Sort and organize photos, rotate around 3D documents, play and edit video, create entire websites, and now you can even use Photoshop to develop screensavers and other content for your cell phone, and all these from this one software package.
Photoshop CS3 introduces 2 version of Photoshop. The standard version we have been using for years, and now the extended version. The extended version allows us all the features of Photoshop standard and add some very advanced measurement tools, and the ability to edit 3D files, video, and certain file formats for the medical industry. In this series, I will be using the extended version, but we will not be getting into any features that are specific to this version. In other words, if you are using the standard edition of Photoshop, you would not be missing anything, although you screen may look different at times.
Photoshop is used in so many industries that our next few hours together could potentially change your entire career path. You will learn, you will probably laugh, probably more at meeting with me, and your jaw will drop to the floor as you discover what is possible with Photoshop CS3.
In this lesson we are just going to take a brief tour of what is possible in Photoshop. It is not a hands on lesson like the others would be. You could follow along if you would like, but I am going to go through this pretty quickly, and I would not be explaining my every move. So now that the intro mambo jumbo is out of the way, we are ready to get into the program and behold the glory that is Photoshop CS3.
