David Epstein: Hi, I am David Epstein, this is Growing Wisdom. I am here at Johnny's Selected Seeds in Albion Maine with Susie Anderson, and we are looking at some diseases on tomatoes. Tell home owners and commercial growers, what are some of the things they should be looking for in terms of diseases? Susie Anderson: Some common ones for tomatoes are Septoria, Early Blight and Powdery Mildew. Early blight is a target spot, with concentric rings around the center most lesion. Powdery mildew is white fluffy fungal growth and Septoria are very small pinpoint lesions on the leaf. They're just called leaf rolls, certain varieties do this, especially on their lower leafs. It can be a little alarming to see tomato leaves roll up, but it's fine. David Epstein: It's fine. Susie Anderson: It's perfectly normal. David Epstein: Alright, come back every week for all of our tips and some helps at Growing Wisdoms.
