Before we start, remember that all the project files used in this tutorial are available to download for free at our website.
First, let’s create a new layer. Select the ‘paint bucket tool’. Switch to black color to paint our layer. Now create another layer. Choose ‘type tool,’ switch to white color, create our text field and type our text.
Now, go to the layers. Select the black background and our text layer. Use the ‘Ctrl-E’ shortcut to match the layers. Create a new layer and move it below the ice text layer. Select the paint bucket tool, switch to black color and fill the layer.
Now, select the ice text layer. Go to image, rotate the canvass, select 90º clockwise. Now go to filter, pixelate and choose ‘crystallize’. Change the value to 5 and hit ‘OK.’ And now, go to filter, stylize, and choose ‘wind.’ Make sure that from the right is selected. Add ‘wind,’ now hit ‘OK.’ Now, go to image, choose ‘rotate canvass’ and select 90º counterclockwise, and the ice text effect is ready.
