An open hysterectomy is where they actually make an incision on the uterus, and we sequentially ligate the things on aside and pull out the uterus. Laparoscopically, we make little tiny incisions using laproscope to look inside the pelvis, see the uterus, again take down those vessels on aside, the tubes, sometimes take out the ovaries, and in this picture is actually a laparoscopically assisted vaginal hysterectomy. So you see the uterus, so making its way out of the vagina there.
And then there is just plain vaginal hysterectomy. That's where we go in through the vagina, and we sort of go backwards and we start at the cervix and we ligate all those vessels and then we take the uterus out from the vagina.
