Have you ever thought about getting a Blackberry or a Palm Trio but you just don’t like the size of it? Well, I’ve got with me HTC 5800 and essentially, it’s a cellphone that has a pull out keyboard on it which works very much the same way a lot of the smart phones do. So, you’ve kind of got the versatility of having a small phone with the keyboard all built into one.
It’s running Windows Mobile 6 on it and it has mobile office. So essentially, it means you can edit word documents and excel right from the convenience of your cellphone. Basically, what happens is the screen goes from portrait over to landscape so that you can then work on documents right from the keyboard here. It feels pretty similar to most smart phones. However, the keyboard is centered a little bit to the left. So, I found it did take a little bit of getting used to. The keys also were little bit flatter so I found that sometimes I was typing a little bit, but with most keyboards you know it just takes a little bit of time in order to get used to it.
The phone also has a two megapixel camera. And it was just kind of nice for just snapping shots when you’re out in a boat and it also has the ability, like if you wanted to run email from it and things like that, you could order a data plan from it. And it is bluetooth capable. So, if you’re looking for an alternative to a Blackberry or another smart phone and you want something that’s just a little bit more compact. You may want to consider the HTC 5800. I’m just going to send off a little email here from the roof of my car.
