HP TouchSmart Printers Review

Lisa Bettany: I’m here with the Vernon Coutinho of HP and we’re looking at what’s new for the holiday season. So what you just take us through these amazing printers.

Vernon Coutinho: Well absolutely. What we have for the holidays is, I think this year is a lot of touch technology so I think consumers are getting very use to using touch products because it’s easy to use, no mistakes, no manuals and no buttons, so that’s going to be what we are going as well based on all the feedback I’m getting on my customers. So we have this little but touch products coming products coming for the holidays and it goes really with their touch Mac pad or a notebook computers and then we also have on a PC set of things.

Lisa Bettany: I mean as you say they’re really easy use and obviously the screens. Have you increase the size of screens?

Vernon Coutinho: Yes. So in this case we have two different models. On this one it’s a 2.3-inch screen and that’s a 3.4-inch screen. So they’re very simple to use all you have to do is just tap the screen. The only button on the whole printer is an on/off button. Everything else is on the screen. We made really easy based in customer feedback, where everything is automatic. It has automatic red eye removal. It has automatic picture fix.

Lisa Bettany: So it’s also a photo editor.

Vernon Coutinho: It’s a photo editor, yes. And you can even add—you can crop, you can rotate pictures, you can add borders to them.

Lisa Bettany: So you can print photos of all sizes?

Vernon Coutinho: Yes, you can print a four by six, five by seven all the way up to eight and a half by eleven.

Lisa Bettany: Great!

Vernon Coutinho: Just use a right HP photo paper and you’ll be great to go.

Lisa Bettany: So I guess if you wanted to make a Christmas card or something I’ll add some graphics you have those?

Vernon Coutinho: Yes, you have those capabilities and the other really neat thing about these printers is they have a we call auto sense technology based on the paper, the HP paper that you use, the printer knows what kind of paper is in the tray as well as what size it is.

Lisa Bettany: That’s really great because I’ve always had problems with matching. You know you have a mat paper and it just mix.

Vernon Coutinho: Well, because you make a mistake either in picking the wrong paper and you have to reprint the job.

Lisa Bettany: Right!

Vernon Coutinho: Which is more expensive too, so the printer automatically sets the salvation of paper that’s in there all you have to do is just hit print.

Lisa Bettany: Great! And there are also three in one, so?

Vernon Coutinho: Yes. They’re print, scan, copier and in this particular case, double sided printing as well. So if our customers on print a lot of text then we use both sides of the paper and the printer automatically does it for you and for all the techno folks out there, we’ll have a smart phone or Bluetooth phone with pictures on it. The printers blue tooth capable as well.

Lisa Bettany: Oh wow!

Vernon Coutinho: So you can print directly from your phone straight to the printer.

Lisa Bettany: And obviously, they’re wireless as well so you don’t have to worry about.

Vernon Coutinho: Absolutely!

Lisa Bettany: A jumble of cable.

Vernon Coutinho: Wireless is the standard now just because there’s so many notebook computers out there so no wires required as well, so it makes it really, really simple for customers to use

Lisa Bettany: So a lot of people are printing their photo term online, do you offer any kind of service like goes with that?

Vernon Coutinho: Sure. HP has a great photo cycles at this where you can load up your pictures on other prints from there, friends, coffee mugs whatever you like, but this printer also connects too that side, so it allows you the benefit of both. You can both go online or print from home which ever is convenient. So both capabilities, either you print from online or from home available through this printer.

Lisa Bettany: That’s great if you’re trying to share photos with your family just quickly printing them off and—

Vernon Coutinho: Yes

Lisa Bettany: Sending them a Christmas card or something.

Vernon Coutinho: Yes, and it’s very easy to do as well
