Hi I am Doctor Pam Peeke and I am sitting here worrying and I am anxious. Have you ever done that? You sit around and you worry and you do something I call taking a thought, putting in into a mental quiz, and hard hitting high and chop and letting your go; you ruminate and you wonder and oh my gosh. And the next thing you know, you are on that anxiety treadmill.
Now, women are hard wired to do these and this happens especially after the age of 40. Why, because we have so much to worry about. We’ve got kids who are growing up and getting into trouble, we have new jobs and we change locations of where we live and what we do for a living. Gosh, we have so much going on and on top of that, our bodies are changing, so enough that our environment is changing, everything is changing.
Well, guess what? You have got to reign that worry and anxiety in, you know why? Because what you are doing is you are spending yourself, you are spending body dollars when you do this. All you have to do is realize that if you just take every single day as it comes, instead of getting round up tight and about what? Well, you are eroding your immune system, you are not—well, you are also advancing the aging process as well.
So, here is the thing I would ask you to do, take a deep cleansing breath, find beautiful ways to stay calm, take that walk, do it with a buddy, do yoga meditation walk, learn how to just sit there and be and learn how to breath deeply in and out. Wake up in the morning and do this journal. Learn how to share with other people as well. How about some beautiful music on the background that calm you down, aromatherapy create a calming environment because you know something, you have got to reign it in and here is another thing, most women are eternal care givers. They give and give and give with no limit and boundary.
When you do that, you spend yourself and that is no way to live. All I want you to do is reign that in, a little bit, establish limits and boundaries and establish balance in your life. A little for you and a little for me, that is all you need to do to be able to live long and live well without that worry and anxiety.
