Hi! I’m My Style fashion editor Sydne Summer and I’m here at BB on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills. Today, I want to show you how to take one leopard cardigan and create three totally different looks, here on My Style 3 Way.
Animal prints have been a major trend for the past few seasons but they’re roaring even louder into fall. Now, a cardigan is a comfy take on the spot of style that you can clam up or you can dress down. Khloe Kardashian recently wore this exact sweater. So, why don’t we see how you can incorporate it into your wardrobe in three completely different ways?
A leopard cardigan lets you indent a little diva attitude into the workplace without going overboard and what’s so great about the print is it works equally well at black as it does with brown. So, for the office, we’ve put Jess in one of fall’s hottest colors, camel. And we use this belt to show off her waist. Now, since she’s gold on her accessories, she really doesn’t need much more jewelry than a ring. And of course, a basic pump is fine but we want to add a little color with a red shoe.
Now, once a work week is over, it doesn’t mean you need to put the cardigan away. Let me show you a little trick for the weekend. What’s so cool about an oversized cardigan is that it can be such a statement piece that when styled correctly, you can wear basically anything underneath. So, let’s say you’re at yoga but you need to run some errands and don’t have to go home and change. You just throw the cardigan over some workout gear like we did with Lilani and we used a belt to close it. Slip on some fun booties and nobody will know that you’re just doing sun salutations.
So now, let’s go take the cardigan on a casual date. We’ve all heard that too much of anything is a bad thing. But believe it or not, you can mix animal prints without looking like Tarzan’s wife. The trick is to make sure one pattern is significantly smaller than the other. So, since this leopard cardigan has such a large pattern, you put animal print in a top of smaller spots. Now, two is definitely the limit when mixing wild prints. So, on bottom, we went with the skinny jean and we did a bronze sandal which is a little more tan than gold. So now, Amber can go cuddle up next to her man and purr.
A leopard cardigan is a comfy take on the animal print trend that can work for all different occasions. Use it to spice up a sweater dress at work, belt it over some workout gear to run errands after the gym and mix it with more spots and denim to go bold on a causal date and you’ve just turned one look into three.
