Hey everybody and welcome to another HD tutorial. In this video I’ll be showing you how to download and install and actually use the YouTube downloader application which allows you to download YouTube videos and obvious extreme and rhythm when you’re not connected to the internet.
So first of all, open up your internet browser which you probably already have and use the link description, right click it. Go ahead and open any new tab and you’ll get exactly this page as you can see here. You can download a version 2.1.3. Of course, by the time you finish watching this video there may be certain a more uploaded version and more updated version so we’re going to do is click on the download now button. We’ll take you top the CNET.com download site. Hit that download now button right now.
Now I have already actually done the downloading and installation process so I can’t actually show you that. But once you have it, it will actually put an icon on your desktop. I only have one right now. This is brand new so I actually want to hit and drag that into the RocketDock and that is that full icon that comes with it. So I'm going go ahead and click it on here and it says, “Shall I check for new version.” I just hit no for now and this is your basic interface.
What you’re going to do is if you feel that you want to download a YouTube video you just put up in your internet browser, copy and paste the link and it will instruct your download. So I’ll go ahead and show you an example in one of my videos. I'm going to go to YouTube and I'm going to go to my unboxing video and here it is so I'm going to go ahead and hit play just so that it’s actually playing and I'm going to pause it and here’s your URL. Copy the URL and I hit though and here’s where you enter the URL right here.
Once you you put in the URL you hit this download video from YouTube button and hit okay. And it actually does not take very long at all before the YouTube video is finish downloading.
So we’ll give it a second to download and here it is. We have renamed it so it is actually downloaded as an FLV file, so I show you guys how to fix that. So just hit save for now and it will begin. We’ll come back when this is done. Also I'm going to show you really quick this is the actual download speed we’re getting bout 81 kilobytes per second. So being that this is relative long video. It’s going to be about two more minutes. It is 17-megabyte or 18-megabyte download. So lets just wait for it to finish and I’ll come back as soon as you're ready.
Okay we are finishing up here, downloading my HD unboxing video. By the way you can go watch it at any time with an internet connection. Now I uncheck the box that says close the box and it says close this dialog box when the download completes. So you can actually open the folder in which you can find it. So it is saving to my documents folder as a doc.FLV file. I can minimize this. Now you’ll see you can convert a video a previously downloaded file. I'm going to check that and I'm going to go look for a file. Obviously I know it’s the .FLV file, select it and hit open.
Now I can convert that video I just downloaded into any format listed here. You can convert it so that it fits the iPhone resolution perfectly, the PSP version, the iPod video resolution perfectly. I'm going to convert mine to WNV format because it is simply the most compatible and this is what I did with my YouTube introduction video which you saw in the beginning of this video.
The first thing I did was export it to YouTube because you are not actually allowed to download unless you sign up and pay for the service. So I export it my 30 second short to YouTube then I use YouTube downloader to actually hit the URL and download it and convert it to a WMV format myself. So I'm going to hit the okay button here. I choose the highest quality and hit okay and here we see the beginning of the conversion of the video in it’s highest quality. So I’ll come back to you guys when this is done.
All right hopefully when you finish the download you’ll get this video, this exact dialog right here the conversion of your video was successful. So I hit okay and I'm going to hit cancel here so now the conversion is complete and if go into my documents again actually I'm going to exit out and go back in to my documents I think if they have save it to. Here we go. This is where exactly save it and as you can see it is in Windows media, audio video formats. I can double click on it as you can see it’s about a 31-megabyte file. The entire conversion process by the way took about 2 minutes and 45 seconds. So if I double click on this obviously I can watch the video I just shot and download it and installed perfectly.
So here is the video at any time I can edit this in Windows movie maker and it is in Camtasia Studio 6 and if there’s any movie editing file so as if ask in case of my introduction video as you might have seen before I actually edited out the end of it which is actually the part of the website and everything. I didn’t need that part in my video.
So thanks for watching this video on YouTube downloader application I hope you find it helpful and if you have any other tutorial ideas just go ahead and subscribe in my page and leave me a message and I will get back to it as soon as possible. Thanks for watching. Peace.
