The Sekonic L-358 is an accurate light meter with advanced features. It has multiple meter such as aperture and time priority, AVE modes and corded and cordless flash metering modes.
It also has the ability to trigger pocket wizards, so with the optional transmitter just select the corresponding channel and set the mode to transmit. Averages and differences can be measured with the AVE button. The L-558 is a similar meter with a one-degree spot meter.
A one-degree spot meter allows the photographer to meet their specific points in a composition for a highly accurate exposure. A calibration target is another common tool used with the spot meter. It allows the photographer to set the absolute white, black and middle tone to adjust accordingly to the contrast and the composition.
