This sensational summer mixes are perfect for almost any gathering.
Allison: Hi there everyone. Welcome to Celebrations. I'm your host, Allison Chase. My friend Kim is an avid entertainer and well-known hostess here on the E-stand. And today, she has decided to throw an impromptu cocktail party for a gathering of friends. I have just the person to introduce her to. My friend, Mindy Coburn is a respected mixologist and has all sorts of great ideas for some fabulous cocktails. Let’s go meet everyone, and see what’s in store for today.
Hey Kim, we’re here. Hi.
Kim: Hi. Good to see you. How are you?
Allison: This is my friend Mindy, Mindy this is Kim. Mindy has some great ideas for your party tonight.
Kim: Yeah, so really fun I guess.
Mindy: What do you have in mind for tonight?
Kim: Real easy. A bunch of friends in my backyard, I just wanted to make some great cocktails in half the time.
Mindy: Promise we won’t let you down. We’re going to make some matches in cocktail heaven tonight. I thought I’d take a international trip starting in Greece that got me inspired by Bloody Mary.
Kim: Okay I love Bloody Marys.
Mindy: Kalamata olives, oregano
Kim: Terrific
Mindy: Great. Then let’s move on to something a little sweeter and use some fresh summer peaches and champagne for Bellini.
Kim: I love that.
Allison: Great.
Mindy: So I need a place nearby where we can pick up some of these local ingredients.
Allison: Oh yeah let’s go to the Green Thumb.
Kim: That is a great idea.
Allison: It’s a cute little farm stand. Let’s go.
Mindy: First, you take your high ball glass and you take a fresh lime, and simply coat the top of it and dip it into all day seasoning. We add about a tablespoon of fresh squeezed lemon juice.
Next, let’s take it up a notch or two, we have horseradish. And then we’ve got our great chilled vodka. Then if the taste of the horse radish wasn’t enough, a little bit of Tabasco with Worcestershire sauce. And like about half a teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce and then a couple of dash of Tabasco. We take our kalamata olives in our inner skewers and you just have a touch of the juice, and that really gives it a Greek or Mediterranean feel. And if you pass the oregano, you can just drop it on into your drink and just the aroma of that.
Allison: Let’s put it in.
Mindy: How was that girls? Good way to start off a party?
Kim: Oh yeah.
Mindy: Well cheers!
Kim: It’s so good.
Mindy: This is so easy and was inspired by Harris Barr. It takes some fresh peaches, halved, skins can stay on. Remove the pit, put it in your blender and puree it for two minutes. And then a little twist, you add just a touch of peach schnapps. Then the magic, make sure it’s nice and chilled and look how beautiful that looks.
Kim: Oh it’s amazing.
Allison: Fun!
Mindy: And then, I love to use fresh cherries. There you have it a Peach Bellalini as easy as that and a kiss of summer freshness. Cheers!
Allison: Thank you for watching Celebrations. And I specially want to thank our cocktails expert, Mindy Coburn and especially to Kim Castle for inviting us to another one of her fabulous signature parties. And till then, I'm Allison Chase. Cheers!
