How to Tell When Shrimp is Done
Hi, here’s a Betty’s quick tip. Sometimes it might be difficult for you to tell when shrimp is done. If it’s looking translucent, then it’s not cooked long enough yet. I'm beginning to see some of these that I’ve just put in this skillet turning sort of a translucent color. You could only see through that but you don’t want to stop cooking it right there. I'm going to show you what it looks like when it’s done.
Here are my shrimp at the point where I want to take them up. You can see they look turn either a nice white or a pink color. They will not be translucent. If you want to test with a fork, when you put your fork in, it has substance. It’s not slippery. This is really a nice cooked shrimp.
