If your volleys have a mind of their own and spray in different directions like this water bottle, this tip is for you.
If you want to control your volleys, just squeeze the last three fingers of your grip, add contact, and freeze those strings.
Take a look at 12 year old Colindy volleying with a foam arrow in the throat of her racquet. She just stops at contact with her strings pointing in the direction she just hit the ball.
The ball she just hit were coming fast, but often it's the slow setup volleys that are most difficult, since we tend to over swing of them. On slow high balls, Colindy just makes an extra effort to freeze at contact.
The catch phrase for her on these is pop and stop. Stay tuned to the tennis channel for more quick fix tips.
