How to setup email on your Android phone.
Michael Callahan: Hi, this is Mike Callahan, "Doctor File Finder" and welcome to your butterscotch.com tutorial on how to setup email on your Android phone. Because of its affiliation with Google, all of Google services like Gmail are easily setup on your Android phone but what about regular email. Well there is an email application you can see I have the icon on my Desktop of my Android, so we'll just tap that and we'll walk through this process.
This is set up, you can configure email for most accounts in just a few steps. So you need to put in an email address and a password. Now once you have done that we'll tap next and it will bring up this screen asking us what type of account is it, well it happen to be a POP account so we'll tap that. And now it's going to ask us for all of the login information. So will put that in, now that information put in and you get this information from your internet service provider, tap next and that will bring us to this screen for the SMTP server email so we'll put that in.
With this information typed in we'll tap next again and we get this screen, email checking frequency, you can tap on that and you get this screen and check every five minutes never, every 30 minutes, every hour, and so on we'll just stay with every 15 minutes and then you can send email from this account by default or have it notify you when email arrives.
Then will tap next and here you can give your account a name and you can put in your name as you would have it displayed for outgoing messages. I have got put in something as well, type something fast, I want to say mike, okay, so now that's done with this tap done and your account is ready to go. So this is how you can setup just about any email account on your Android phone and that's all there is to it.
