Meghan: Wine racks are one of the most popular type of wine storage and it is no wonder why, they will make you feel like you are at a vineyard. And today I am here at Wine Cellar Innovations to learn about the different types.
I am hitting the road, searching for answers, and finding great design. It is a quest of beauty, function and of course inspiration.
Wine racks can be placed anywhere in your home and comes in different styles, free standing versus hanging, diamond storage versus rectangular. But before buying it is important to know that wine racks do not have a refrigeration unit which means storing wine on the wine rack would not keep the wine at its peak.
While chatting with Jack Diener from Wine Cellar Innovations I found out as long as you are not an avid collector that is not too big of a deal.
Jack: For all practical purposes if you are going to consume it within three to five years not many wines are going to go bad in ones home unless you kept them in your trunk or kept it your refrigerator.
Meghan: When looking for wine racks you can choose to have one custom made or buy a prefabricated model.
Jack: A custom wine cellar rack is designed to fit exactly into your space, prefabricated units is one that is just that it is just prefabricated it takes up to given space and if it does not fit it can be modified with trim kits and such to make it look custom although it is not.
Meghan: And do not think wine racks are only used for storage.
Jack: And all of the pre-made units that we create here you have the option of countertops glass racks we have standardized even pieces of art.
Meghan: So really you can sup up your wine rack it is not just the storage in it, did I just say that? Well at least you got the point across.
Jack: Well they are becoming much more of a focal point in entertainment portion of ones home.
Meghan: So if you want to add some vineyard charm to your home and drink your wine within three to five years a wine rack or wine racks depending on how big your collection is may be the perfect choice for you.
