How to Select a Kitchen Knife Set

A basic knife kit such as this one consists of only a few knives. The chef's knife will
likely be the most used tool in the kitchen. Then there is a steel which is a must for

The paring knife is another basic tool which is often used. It's handy for smaller things

Another knife that is great to have is a serrated or bread knife. The saw-like edge allows
you to cut through food without damaging it which is a must for things like pastries and
cakes. There are especially good when cutting through foods with harder exteriors and
softer insides that you don't want to squish such as bread.

A boning knife is required if you plan to do any of your butchery. One with the stiff blade
is preferred for boning beef, pork or lamb whereas one with the flexible blade is preferred
for boning poultry.

Lastly, a knife guard will protect your knives and keep your fingers safe.
