How to See Folder Sizes in OS X
Welcome to Techzilla Daily. I’m Veronica Belmont. OS 10’s finders a very useful file management tool but a few tweaks and make it even better, for example by default, when you’re in a list or cover flow view. Finder will show the size of each file but not the folders but if you’re trying to figure out where all that space in your hard drive went, the simple tip will make your life easier.
When in you're in the list or cover flow view, hit command J or got to view and show view options. Just click the calculate of sizes box and voila! You’ll now be able to see the total size of all your folders as well as the files. Keep in mind, though, that if you do have huge folders, it could take a while to calculate and you might even notice your system acting a bit sluggish in the process. But, if you need to figure out which folders are hugging on these gigabytes, without their party software, give this little tip a try.
Now, if you have a tip or trick that you want to share with the world, then, email us at Techzilla @revision3.com and don’t forget, Techzilla.com. It’s the place to find more tips, tricks, product reviews and how to’s.
