Female Speaker: Fine Living Network's smart tips with Green Energy expert Joe Harberg.
Joe Harberg: Using less water means lower water bills. So consider these conservation tools. Tankless water heaters heat water quickly, provide an endless supply of hot water on demand, and can save 20% on energy cost.
New shower-head technology blocks water flow when it reaches 95 degrees. A family of 3 using one minuter less of hot water per shower can save up to $75 of energy bills, and 2700 gallons of water per year.
Low-flow toilets use 1.2-1.6 gallons per flush compared to older toilets which use up to 4.5 gallons. Saving as much as 10,500 gallons of water annually, and fix those leaky faucets, just one drop per second waste more than 3,000 gallons of water per year.
