How to Save on Tutoring
Audra Lowe: Now, those babies are cute right now but, one day, Terin, they’re be all grown up. Get on your nerves, and need some help with their homework. And Jeanette Pavini has got some tips though on keeping those tutoring cost down and it's all in today’s Better Ways to Save.
Jeanette Pavini: Alright, so homework is hard these days for both kids and for parents. Tutors can be pricey, charging anywhere from $20.00 to $75.00 an hour or even more, while the pro’s can work magic. There are plenty of no and low cost options for you to consider.
Now the first place to start looking for extra help is at your kid’s school. Talk to the teachers. Your child might not mention that teacher’s schedule studies sessions during lunch or after school. Other options, ask about homework clubs and peer to peer to tutoring at your school. Organize your own small homes study group or check with your local college for education majors who might want to intern as tutors.
Another great source of tutoring could be the local library. Many communities have live online homework to help for students. All they need is a library card or a pass code. Tutors monitor homework online and our available to answer any questions that come up through instant messaging.
Finally, there are free educational games and test online to help with math and reading. Check out your states Department of Education website or search homes schooling sites online.
