Audra Lowe: Gardening is a great hobby, but it can also be an expensive one. Jeanette Povini is here with a better way to save on making your garden grow.
Jeanette Povini: Whether it’s a yard full of flowers or veggies you want, you can save big in the garden by spending a little time cultivating friendships and knowledge. One of the best ways to get plants and cutting for free is to join the community gardens or gardening groups in your own neighborhood. People often share extra plants when they need to thin their crops.
Other ways to get plants for a little or no cost, search the internet sites like craigslist and freecycle.org often have listings for free plants, compost and tools. You can start new plants from cuttings. You could save seeds to swap with others. And you can talk to your local nursery or local landscaping businesses about taking old plants off their hands.
Audra Lowe: Thanks Jeanette. And on Friday, she’s got some great tips on what to watch out for when it comes to signing on the dotted line with a credit counselor. You don’t want to miss that.
Better aims to make your life "better" by focusing on trends, beauty breakthroughs, finances, fitness, decorating and all hot topics that affect your family and relationships.
