Hey folks. Olly Connelly here, Olly at Guvnr.com. Today, I am going to show you how to save a few quid with promo codes. For example, if you want to sign up for a product or service online, very often, you can use promo codes to save a few pennies.

To give you an example, this company here the Linode.com. It’s going to be my new web host for Guvnr.com so that I can speed on your experience on my site basically and so they, for example, as do many on their initial sign up page, have got an option for you to enter a promotion code.

So how do you get that? Okay. Well, there is two ways to try. One of them will work and one of them might work. First of all, I will show you the way that might work. You type in your keywords. So in my case, it’s Linode promo code. It could be Linode promotion or obviously you want to change Linode for whatever the company or services that you want and then just hit Return.

And I’ve come up with a few examples here. There you go. Linode Coupon Codes, discount and promotion codes, promotion code Linode25. That’s sounds specifically Linode. We’ll have a look at those two I think.

You might as well click on it as well. Okay, all right. So, Linode coupon codes@RetailMeNot.com, Unreliable Coupons it says. This is one 11% success rate, no percent, no percent, 5%. Not many people try them. They have two comments. The second is month free for that one, 15% success rate. Let’s try that WHT3JUL08. Well JUL08 my word and that’s a long time ago. I’m not even going to bother and that will not work.

We also found this. This was the third tab in the search results and it says here, promotion code Linode25 received 25% discount on a normal rate, so after the usual 30-day free trial period in. That is very good. If it works, I will see. I will try it. So here we go. This is a form I filled in earlier. So, we’re set to go. I signed up for a bit of an extra discount there with 12 months. Not quite committing myself to two years yet. Hit Return.

And the promotion code you’ve entered is either expired or invalid. Well, this is commonly the problem when you run that kind of search on Google that I just did. So let’s try this again using a different method. So these are no good. Get rid of them and this is how you really do it. Okay, so.

Go to Google. You want to click on Advanced Search. You keep the keywords as they were. The only difference is that you want to click on here, date, usage rights blah-de, blah-de, blah because the problem with Google is the date. It takes you the highest rank pages or the most observed pages what have you or how do they work; their algorithm. They do not necessarily take you to the most recent pages.

And when you want a promo code, you want the most recent pages. So here you go. You don’t want anytime which is the regular Google stuff. You want for the sake of some sort of a promotion. You want something in the last week or the last month and then you click on go.

And then it should be a little bit more recent. Now this one is 15 hours ago except it doesn’t say anything about Linode. It does say @Linode but here we go. Here is a promo code. We don’t even have to click through the page by the looks of it to look at that one. Free second month that gives.

Well, okay that will do. Let’s try that. That will do. So I’m not going to be too greedy because I don’t have much time and it’s just a question saving a few quid. That would save me about $20.00.

And let’s try it. There you go. Success! Complete your order. Okay, terrific. So basically now, I can just carry on and sign up and I can save myself. In this case, I only bought myself a cheap bottle of whiskey. Hey, that is cool. Okay.
