When you buy the designer frames you’re basically paying for fashion not function. You can save 30 to 50% on designer models by going to a big box store or asking your doctor’s office for discontinued designs. If you skip the designer label there are stores online that sell generic designs for less than $50 with the lenses included.
Now when it comes to lenses single vision lenses are the least expensive. Bifocals and progressive lenses cost more but you’ll save hundreds of dollars on single vision lenses by buying online, you’ll just need that prescription. Now eye exams are an important part of healthcare in addition to checking your vision doctors can diagnose other health problems by getting a close look inside your eyes.
Check out low cost vision plans optometry schools foundations dealing with glaucoma or blindness and other local health departments for money saving and low cost options for hour eye exams and if you wear disposable lenses you can find them online in that Big Box stores for significantly less when you would at the doctors office.
