How to safely remove the SD card from your Android phone.
Michael Callahan: Hi, this is Mike Callahan, Doctor File Finder, and welcome to your butterscotch.com tutorial on how to safely remove the SD card from your Android phone.
Many Android phones have SD or secured digital cards to give them disc space, my Droid came with 16 gigabytes. We will tap on settings; many people don't realize that there is a safe and unsafe way to remove an SD card.
So you see here it is up by the top SD card & phone storage, we'll tap on that and they are right in the center you see Unmount SD card. Now, I'm not going to actually do mine because I have to take off the back on the Droid but I would do is I would tap this, this would become great out because the card would be unmounted and I have to take off the back, remove the battery and then pull out the tiny SD card and I could put in another one.
So this is how you safely remove the secured digital card from your Android phone. If you just yank it out the Android phone gets very confused and you can also damage it because the Android phone thinks that its connected, so when you want to remove your SD card come to this spot tap Unmount SD card, and then remove the SD card. And that's all there is to it.
