The keys to successful gardening are plenty of sun and water and above all, your soil quality. Now, I am in the front of my house here and I have some of the worst soil quality here on my property. As you can see, it does not look like black gold like the rich soil that you see, that is teaming with worms like in my raised beds. So I am going to put my A-team on it, adult bantam chickens. We have been eating eggs since December from then and they are delicious. Now, these guys lay the blue and green and pink eggs and because they are bantams, their eggs are much smaller than the regular size. So let me introduce you to the chickens. This is napoleon and that is Dynamite. This is white Silkabutt. Whoa! Rocket (laughing). Napoleon just got that and I know you go guys go ahead. Oh! Yes. No problem. Hi sweetie, hi black Silkabutt this is black Silkabutt and that is Rocket right there. Hi sweetie, you are going to have to get up. And look, there is an egg.

There are just a lot of little bugs around and what they are doing is they are scratching the soil for me, they are living behind that richness that I need for this fat powdery soil. Whoa! Black Silkabutt was trying to fly, go ahead you guys. Go ahead you guys, there she goes, good girl, good job you guys. And now, they are in their new home, they love it; it was hardly an issue to get them in at all. I do not know what that means, I am sure you are wondering what you do with this mess over here. What I am going to do is I am going to get some seed, some grass seed. I am going to lay it down on there and I am going to cover it Timothy hay. So my hands are back in their home safe and sound.
