And here is the trick, folks they are called the ladder standoffs. You can get different models but they all do the same thing. And what you do, you put them right in to the rung holes on the side of the ladder, push them in. And in fact if your ladder is too long for the roof height that you are going up onto, you can actually shorten the ladder length by using them.
Let us go up and see how they work. Now as you can see, they are right up on the roof shingle, that way it gives that ladder good stability on the roof as well as it keeps it open, the gutters, nowhere near the gutters. In fact if you are painting the fascias board or the gutters you can paint right on through. That way, it is good and secure. It is just that easy.
