How to Print a Customized Photo Album
You know, digital photography is wonderful. You can take literally thousands of photos and share them instantly on the web or through email. But sometimes, I really do miss looking through the old photo albums.
Well, we want to show you how you can take your photo albums and all your digital photos and take it up to a professional level, and create a really cool photobook that would be a great gift item for anyone to receive.
It’s from London Drugs and it’s a feature that they have where you can create photobooks by downloading a really easy-to-use piece of software off of their website, and just have a look at some of the pictures that have been included in here. Look how professional it looks. Well, we’ll show you how to do that today.
First thing you want to do is head up to the London Drugs website, head over to the photolab and on the photolab page, we can go to photobooks. From here, we can download the software and we’re good to go. It’s so customizable you can literally have thousands, if not millions, of different combinations with your photos.
What I want to do is go and actually get my photos. I have dropped a bunch on my desktop here and presto, these are all the photos that I want to use. On the bottom, we’ve got all sorts of different templates and options that we can use. I can either create everything customized to my liking where I can select an easy-to-use template. Here, there are like wedding ones, ones for kids, also vacation. Simply by clicking on the right one and then just dragging it up on to the page here, it will automatically then apply that template across the entire book.
And you can select any number of pages that you want to work with. All I have to do is just start dragging the photos right into the actual photo holders, and do you see how easy this is? You’re just dragging and dropping these little guys right up there and it makes it so easy to create something really professional and really a keepsake that you can keep for many, many years to come. Imagine grandma getting a nice book like this. She’ll be overjoyed.
Once you’re done, again, you can see how easy this is to do, you can simply go up and hit ‘Send to London Drugs Photolab’ and we’re good to go. Next step, head down to the local London Drugs and see what our masterpiece looks like.
Thanks a lot! Well, this is the moment we’ve been waiting for. I’m pretty excited. I'm just so used to looking at all my photos on my computer screen, it’s kind of a waste. You never really get to share them with all your friends and family as much as you’d like to. And check that out! Look how professional that looks. It’s a hardcover photobook that you can give out as a gift to friends and family, leave it on your coffee table. That’s the photo we selected for the front and this is I guess my vacation that I took over the summer of 2009. Let’s check this inside.
Look at that! I mean, that looks so professional. And what I’ve done here to make it even pop out a little bit more is you could see the backgrounds here. These are actually photographs that I’ve used as the background. I mean, you can use different patterns and stuff that they have included in the software. But by using your own photographs, it kind of gives it a whole other layer of depth.
I’ve done a complete double spread here. This is my son running across the beach at Galiano Island at sunset, and then you can see I’ve added a few more pictures here. And again, this is a wonderful gift idea for friends and family, so easy to put together, and the software is free to download to your PC or Mac as we’d shown you earlier. Check that out, that’s just beautiful.
It’s a wonderful way to get a hardcover edition of the photographs, your memories that will basically last a lifetime, and so simple to put together and a gift that anyone would want to receive.
