Speaker: Side Volley Technique involves a few key points. Doug is going to plant his non-kicking foot toward the goal. He is going to dip his shoulder, his inside shoulder, one that's closest to the goal, and he is going to swing his hips around, contacting the ball on his instep.
Here's a full volley, out of the air. Well struck. Twisting on the hips, hips to shoulder. Your non-kicking foot almost always point towards your target. If he keeps his non-kicking foot pointed towards me, he is going to miss. That's what brings his hips around, planting that foot, full volley, out of the air, here we go, great stuff.
From the side, cross might be coming in, so off the ground. Could be one, two bounces, ball could be bouncing in the box.
