Complete 10 repetitions of each drill with each foot
Speaker: Doug's going to demonstrate a half volley to begin with, off of a juggle. He brings the ball up, just work on his juggling technique. The ball comes down, half volley. As soon as it contacts the ground, then he strikes it. The ball shouldn't be above your knee when you strike it, so make contact below the knee.
You can vary the distance of the juggle, moving forward a little bit. That's a nice strike right there, he is using his instep.
Now we go full volley off the juggle, full volley. He is taking the ball out of the air, before it hits the ground.
Doug is actually on that one able to continue the drill off the rebound, which you might be able to do off a fence. Off a wall you wouldn't be able to hit it as hard. Any area you have to use, the more you practice, the better you are going to get. You don't need a field, you don't need a goal to become a better player, you need an attitude that's willing to work.
