Hi! This is Paul Huppert with OnLineLessonVideos.com.
In this lesson we’ll be covering all 12 minor keys in the natural minor form. In addition to this, we include downloadable sheet music of all the scales and arpeggios and as usual a close up of the left hand which is especially valuable for those of you who don’t read music, you could simply follow along with the video. Let’s get started.
When executing a natural minor scale, basically you have to keep in mind that it’s completely stripped out of any accidentals and you basically play what is in the purely within the key signature itself. Let me demonstrate with the key of A minor. We have the first step, second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seven, and then eight back to tonic.
[Demonstration]
No accidentals at all. It takes a little getting use to if you’re accustomed to practicing the melodic or harmonic minor but it’s very useful. Let’s start with the key of A minor.
