How to Plan a Spooky Halloween Party
Audra Lowe: Boo! Did I scare you, probably not but if you saw me in the morning, yeah. We’re helping you plan a spooky, scary and even a creepy Halloween party. Look who’s here with me, celebrity event planner Mark Adison is here to help. He has got some really creepy concoctions and I have to say our cruise, like how does he come up with these things because I'm not that creative. No one is this creative Mark.
Mark Adison: You know just I have to over -- I think, think, think all the way through but its fun to do because this is my favorite holiday to throw a party for.
Audra Lowe: I can tell.
Mark Adison: This is what I'm calling a specimen punch.
Audra Lowe: Okay.
Mark Adison: No, scientist bar should be without specimens we have a collection of them here but our punch features a nasty, ghoulish combination of vegetables and pasta.
Audra Lowe: Wow, is that a cauliflower down in there?
Mark Adison: It is, its cauliflower this is a three tear beverages dispenser with the spout and I’ve created an atomic punch. And inside floating we have frozen cadaver hands which are just ice colored and frozen in latex gloves.
Audra Lowe: See Marks this is what I thought my mother-in-law kitchens will look like. The first time I met her but it’s completely opposite of this. All right we’ve a got a couple of drinks over here with different names right?
Mark Adison: Well right, these are my amatives.
Audra Lowe: Okay.
Mark Adison: This is amative for a boring Halloween party. So what I’ve done is taken classic cocktails like a cape cod and made a cape fear probably going to down to the essence and you shoot it into your glass.
Audra Lowe: Bam take that baby.
Mark Adison: Bam.
Audra Lowe: All right.
Mark Adison: That is the cure for any boring Halloween party, sort of.
Audra Lowe: Okay and you know I need some help when it comes to this.
Mark Adison: Well you know Halloween doesn’t have to be gross it can be menial too. So I couldn’t see secret potions here.
Audra Lowe: Okay.
Mark Adison: Now, this is for our champagne and our wine friends and this are just classic champagne cocktails and I boil down the essence to create--
Audra Lowe: Your voice changes when you say this too.
Mark Adison: It’s creepy and delicious.
Audra Lowe: Okay.
Mark Adison: And here we have a little seduction.
Audra Lowe: And what is this again that you just use?
Mark Adison: This is the essence of elderflower liquer and pomegranate juice.
Audra Lowe: Oh.
Mark Adison: And we made classic champagne cocktail that I'm calling the seduction.
Audra Lowe: Okay, now this one over here this is where we get to the Oscar’s right.
Mark Adison: This is probably a little bit of sci-fi too.
Audra Lowe: All right, yeah.
Mark Adison: So Halloween is a lot of different layers you can go too. So this is called the alien secretion. Now that’s the classic secretion.
Audra Lowe: Normal anything with the secretion we’re not drinking but this time around.
Mark Adison: I made this cocktail for the Oscar’s this year.
Audra Lowe: Now, what is this on top?
Mark Adison: That is a gelatin skin. So you have to -- the dilemma here is you have to eat the skin off the top of the glass before you can get to the secretion.
Audra Lowe: Okay, I got you.
Mark Adison: And here we have a Mars Sunrise and then the far one over there is the layered drink and it's called the galactic serpent.
Audra Lowe: I like to touch and feel this things, this is fun.
Mark Adison: They're just great and creepy and funny that’s a definite gross out for your guest.
Audra Lowe: Can you gross me out afterwards we’ve ran out of time but you have to stay around and tell me the rest of this, okay Mark?
Mark Adison: Absolutely.
Audra Lowe: Thank you so much that was a lot of fun, I really appreciate it. We’ll be back after this.
