Hey guys, if can recall, I made a video about hiding files or folders and basically, one of my friends here on YouTube placed a comment, here it says—I know a better way, they can never know it’s a folder because it’s hidden in CMD or Command rofl and it’s password protected. So I think it’s really a cool trick and I actually replied with a cool trick with me and I’ll make a video about it and I’ll give you the credit. So eksell1 replied to my message and I’m going to share this trick with you guys. It’s really cool trick and if you just want to password-protect your files or your folders.
Okay so this is the message from eksell1, so it says here lock-unlock folder with CMD or Command, so he asked to tell you how to lock folder, right? Copy and paste this notepad and save it as (.bat), so .bat is basically a batch file, you know a set of command, it can make your computer do, so in this case, we’re going to make an invisible folder or a hidden folder and then password protect it, so all credit goes to eksell1 here for giving me this long code. I’ll be putting this in the description for you guys to use. So my password here is geeky, but was can change it to whatever we want just by editing it so, we just change geeky to whatever password you want. So I’m going to demo that to you now, let’s check it out.
Okay so we will open a new text document from notepad and I’m going to paste the code, here we go. So I'm going to change the password to whatever I want, let’s say—I’ll go with angel. My girlfriend’s name is Angel by the way so we have angel. Alright, and then we’re going to save this as let’s say, try and then .bat. So save as type all files, try.bat, save, and it’s here. So it’s not a typical text document anymore, it’s a batch file with this icon and if we activate it, there is our created folder which is supposed to be hidden, so you put in stuff that you want to hide, so let’s open that.
So let’s say I'm going to hide this one, close it. So here is our hidden folder named personal. And then I'm going to activate the batch file again, so Are you sure you want to lock the folder? So I’m just going to say Yes, and it’s gone. So if you want to recover your folder, activate it again, so enter the password to unlock folder, I’ll go with angel and my folder is back. So that’s pretty cool.
Okay this time were just going to change the name of our folder. So a while ago we used Personal and I'm just going to change that for you guys to see, so the title of the folder, I’ll change it to let’s say my name Lee. And every word with Personal, I’m just going to change with Lee. Okay, so just change very Personal word to whatever name you want your folder to have. Okay, I’m just going to check it one more time.
Okay, so if you’re done, you’ll save this so I’m going to save this as a batch file again, let’s say lee.bat, All Files, save. And here we go, I’m going to activate it, ,so I enter the password to unlock the folder and I’m going to go with angel. And here’s my folder, Lee. So, if I want to hide it, just say yes and it’s gone. So there you go, basically that’s how you can password-protect your folders and files. So again, I would like to thank eksell1 for teaching us that cool code, it’s a very neat trick if you want to protect your files and you just want to hide your files from unwanted guys and here’s a great way to do it.
And also to all my subscribers, I appreciate this, thank you so much, if you have any question at all about my video or any related piece, message me here on YouTube and I’ll get to them as soon as I can.
