How to Mask Cellulite Video
Rhiannon Ally: Okay it is time to talk about one of those things that no woman wants to think about. We have all got it and it seems impossible to get rid of. We are talking about cellulite. No matter how much we exercise, how well we eat or how thin we are it just seems to cling to our buddies kind of like a fungus.
Today Dr. Yan Trokel is here to show us what really works in terms of masking cellulite. Welcome Dr. Yan.
Dr. Yan: Thank you for having me.
Rhiannon Ally: Nice to have you. First of all we have to ask what is cellulite and why can’t we get rid of it?
Dr. Yan: Unfortunately cellulite is a phenomenon that is only seen in women and there are many causes over this. It is not only one cause so we have to treat it appropriately.
Rhiannon Ally: Why can’t we get rid of it when we exercise, when we diet all of that stuff?
Dr. Yan: Because it is the way that we are built and women are built a little differently than man and that is why only women get it. The strands that hold the skin to the underlying tissues is different in man and a woman so no matter what we eat, drink and diet we still have that lumpy pumpy orange peely type of a look.
Rhiannon Ally: It is so gross. Why are men so lucky? Okay so tell us there are some procedures out there that will really make cellulite look a lot better.
Dr. Yan: Well the two procedures that I love to do is one called Velo shape and one is called carboxy therapy and both of these technologies will help improve the appearance of cellulite. They are minimally invasive. They are quick. They are easy and the results to put it last for about a year.
Rhiannon Ally: That is not bad, a year? Right before beach season, tell us about the first one.
Dr. Yan: The first one Velo shape uses infrared and heat and what it does is it improves the quality and the texture of the skin and the underlying tissues.
Rhiannon Ally: It kind of look like vacuum how does that work? Will you show it here? Dr. Yan: It does basically what it is, is that the head is placed on the body and heat is given off and it just feels like a massage and you just undergo a nice treatment. As soon as the treatment is done you will see the improvement of the cellulite one, two, three right away.
Rhiannon Ally: It does not hurt at all. That is great to know.
Dr. Yan: Not at all. Actually it feels great I have done it to myself.
Rhiannon Ally: What about the second treatment?
Dr. Yan: The second treatment is called carboxy therapy and what we use is medical great CO2 and that helps to improve the quality and the texture of the skin. Now, that is a little bit more painful.
Rhiannon Ally: We can see the little tubes. How does that work exactly?
Dr. Yan: Because we use the seal to gas these little needle to inject to micro inject carbon dioxide gas which is extremely safe.
Rhiannon Ally: This is a little bit painful and you like to mix the two.
Dr. Yan: It is the best treatment since there are a lot of factors that cause cellulite. Sometimes we have to treat it with various modalities to get the optimal treatment.
Rhiannon Ally: And you said that this going to range about $3000.00 so for people that do not have $3000.00 are there some other things over the counter maybe that you recommend?
Dr. Yan: There are a couple of things that will improve the appearance but remember the results won’t last for a year. It will be short lived. Some of the products that we have, we have some here at the table and what they will do is they will improve the appearance by either taking the water out and making the skin looks smoother or they will, like you are using shimmer to help the appearance of the skin.
Rhiannon Ally: And these are the creams and things like this. What about these body shapers? Do those really do anything?
Dr. Yan: You know when you are wearing them under the clothes you look great.
Rhiannon Ally: Okay when you wear them under the clothes that is great but other than that it is not really going to do much.
Dr. Yan: Other than that it is not going to do much. Remember cellulite unfortunately is an anatomical problem.
Rhiannon Ally: Thank you so much Dr. Yan.
Dr. Yan: Thank you and we are going to wage the war against cellulite and win.
