I cook health food the food that has healing effect to the body and it show people how to eat healthy and improve their health or maintain your good healthy or if you like that one. Today I am going to prepare several dishes. First one is using the seaweed. Seaweed is, okay, I use the dry seaweed and this were the unusual item is called the thong wax squash it is in the squash family and then we have in the mushroom this is an dry shiitake mushroom and I have soak it there, at that time we’ll make a soup out of it, because a good friend mine is vegetarian she requested I cook a vegetarian dish, so this is a vegetarian dish a soup okay.
Seaweed you can buy them put them all together fresh. Seaweed I bought them they come like this its dry seaweed okay so you can have this nasty looking, but it is good for you in many ways and you soak it in hot water okay for about whole half hours so okay. If you soak in the cold water it takes half day to bring them back to this stage. Okay this is nice and soft and I washed it so it’s clean. It does have some salt on it because it just come out of the ocean and then you will wash like that, but don’t wash it too hard, because some people think its dirty its really not dirty it just the sea salt and the starch okay and also the surface of these seaweed that has a layer of this kind of gluey stuff which is very good.
They have they actually some new studies say that they are good for cancer to in, so don’t wash too hard. Okay my mother use to wash it with brush you know like wash little hard and this is not necessary to do that okay. People do think the thinking is right do you know but you know without knowing the benefit, the actually is not the proper way to do it. So I am going to cut this saying because don’t want to cook, take too long to cook you can if you cooking is stew if you put this in the stew or anything you can cut it bigger but, its very easy and most like a very soft to cut here we go.
Now I am doing this, I could have cut it before but I want to show you how to prepare this now this is dried shiitake mushroom, also they come like in this they are of course of main kind of package okay this is a dried mushroom. And they has wonderful smell flavor okay and you soak it also in the hot water it doesn’t take very long 10 minutes also. Okay so it’s also nice. I am not drinking this because I could use his later okay. And then the other thing is this, this is called the thong wax squash it’s a kind of shape like a watermelon but its not fruit this is vegetable okay.
This is a very good for summer since we are entering summer this dish is particularly, you don’t, well today now there is you can pretty much grow any thing in any season but this typically is a summer vegetable. If you just leave it to the nature this won’t grow in winter okay and it has I purposely love this, didn’t peel this they has a, very hard skin or peel you may call and you can eat this unless you really, really process this okay, so you cut this off okay, and this peel is actually a medicine it’s a chinese herb okay. People all use it, in lots of heat condition okay like liver heat up or just summer heat sometimes we do use food to adjust the balance of the body okay.
The food that every food has its character, so you try to bring every food is like either hot or cold or in the middle okay, so you try to bring the hot food balance verse the cold food or in the middle is good but sometimes people get tired over eating the food that adjust in the middle so they eat you know like the hot food or we’ll call the young food or young food you know like the watermelon is typically is very, very cold but very cold okay but then again that is very good for the summer whether okay.
Now I am going to turn on this and then we are going to start cooking. I would quickly fry at this now will add water and make a soup out of it okay, lets use some cooking oil, you can use any oil you prefer okay, corn vegetable just stir this stick to the bottom of the wok or frying pan or now this is the green onion. Green onion has wonderful flavor and this also very good for you, just put in the green onion just to bring some flavor out okay now watch me, we are going to add things hang a little bit of different odors okay and you put the mushroom in first because mushroom flavor if you don’t cook it just perfect the flavor doesn’t come out right.
Okay, after mushroom cooked a little bit and then we put in add in the seaweed. Seaweed has a very, very strong ocean smell okay people, I mean I like it and then strain hard to eat but if you prepare right you can get rid of that strong smell. Seaweed has a very special effect besides you know many effect one very unique effect you know one thing seaweed does is seaweed is soft and stuff all right so like tumour, tumor cancer or your body is sometimes you know things happens to it and, then you grow, you grow stuff out of it, You know this is cooking oil add a little bit to it that work here the smell.
Yeah, seaweed is known for thyroid lots of people have thyroid problem and doctor say you know you got thyroid problem, how come I got thyroid problem is too much of stress now there is a doctor for everything too much stress I always laugh at this you know, of course the stress that add to at it. But little bit of sugar okay and the tumor you know for no reason the people now there’s grow lots of tumour you note that, they get bad tumour become cancer. Okay so eat more seaweed.
Seaweed was softening the tumor or cancer or what ever you get to cancer stage you might do some time even stronger but still seaweed it is very good for it okay. Now low I will put the low and this all smells real good. Now I am going to add in this thong wax squash into it, now cook it little bit before we add water to it you know sometimes the people think well soup you just boil some water for all ingredients in it. That’s an other way of doing it but because the seaweed they has such a strong flavor of the ocean its better to let the heat goes towards first okay, and then I added to it okay. Even though it is from the ocean but I think we too needed some salt.
Let they cook a little bit and do not let them burn, okay do they let they burn because we get burnt that the squash doesn’t changes the character. So keep your eye on it sometimes, you know you can cook it on high heat its good for it. Okay, especially at this stage it’s very good for it but then after they cook little bit we will bring it down okay. And I think this is ginger, ginger ring now ans I am just going to add a little bit in it just a little touch ginger have a very strong flavor.
Now this thing I didn’t think I finished to talking about this, this thing has another important effect to the body, in the summer it brings the heat down also it is very good to put the water out so people have problem with the kidney this goes to the kidney meridian okay so if you have those problem with kidney you know like it urine doesn’t go either too much or little this will adjust that condition, okay and then summer especially for people who work outside specially in this place the great Los Vegas we have over 100 degree so this is a very, very nice item to eat and this can cure things like, like this, this herb can cure things like the heat stroke, lot of people past out because it is too hot, you know you boil this drink it your good.
Yeah, in this lot of wonder okay, all right now I am going to add more water to it to make this a soup, you can cook at that, right here at this moment if you want you can move this to a soup pot okay or you can cook in here either way its fine its going to cook for a little I should turn this heat down to let this soup cook for a while okay, and then while that is cooking I am going to prepare the last ingredient is egg you know we all know eggs, egg is good for you and of course some people say no egg is not good for you because it has a high cholesterol but egg generally speak egg is very god for you, especially for people that is for say elderly children or after illness sickness you know you got been down by the medications or surgery egg is very good but generally speaking egg is also very good so were does the egg go, egg nutritious just for everything.
Blood from blood to all the organs it doesn’t go specifically to liver or to lung, egg goes to everything okay and egg is especially good for women, for the female body egg is wonderful thing okay so when this soup is done at the end I will put the egg flower in it you know if you go to chinese restaurant you will probably see the egg flower soup okay now, I didn’t put much water in it because with you can you know if you like to drink more soup juice I mean you can put more water in it okay.
I go by smell to judge if its taste is good, yeah, it look seems like in cooking just little bit a more. The seaweed would take some time even though I cut the very thin and you know what, its cooked, okay watch this okay, watch this let the soup boiling or water what ever you are using okay let they boil, boil real high okay, all right bubbling and then put the egg in, do not drop the egg in just why are you saying its hard is not good enough you know, we got to give the bubbling okay, and then that’s how you make the egg flower, you go there you say oh yeah you know egg is a egg you know but you got to make it flowery looking to satisfy the number 1 condition its good for the eye, the color.
It’s good for the eyes because if when we about to eat if any food before we get to the mouth we see it first so first thing you have to satisfy eyes. This is cooked, and then I am putting here and filling.
