This is a recipe for mash or Urad Daal. Today we will be making this daal in a microwave. For urad daal, you will need one cup of urad or mash ki daal which you have soaked for at least one hour, a quarter of an onion finely chopped, a one inch piece of ginger which we have finely chopped as well, half a cube of chicken stock which is optional, two dried chillies or any other chilly which is optional and we are using one twig of curry pa ta or curry leaves and half of this twig we will use for the daal and for the other half we will use for the for the final bahare.
For the final bhava you will need half a teaspoon of zeera, some green chilli slices, some mint leaves, a few dried red chilli, some coriander, the other half of the twig of curry pa ta and a piece of onion which we have finely slices. You will also need salt and some oil. And now to cook the Urad Daal, for one cup of daal we have added two cups of water and now we will add the onion, the curry pa ta and the dried chillies and the ginger and add the half cube of chicken stock which is optional. Fix it around— and one tablespoon of oil. Cover it up with some cling film and we will poke some holes in it.
Place it in the microwave for 15 minutes. And just take it out when it is 15 minutes, open the wrap and mix it around gently. And we will put it on the microwave for another three minutes, take it out. Mix it around and adjust the salt and transfer into a serving dish and now we will make the bulgar. So add some oil to a pan and wait for it to heat up a bit, when the oil is hot add the zeera and wait for it to crackle a bit in the pot.
Now add the onions and the curry leaves, now add the red chilli and the rest of the things. Add it to the daal. Your mashed ki daal is now ready.
