How to Make Tahini Recipe
This sesame paste is used in a variety of Middle Eastern dishes. Hi, I am Rebecca Brayton and welcome to WatchMojo.com. And today, we will be showing you how to make tahini.
So for your homemade tahini, here is what you will need, a 1/3 of a cup of hulled sesame seeds, a ¼ cup of water, one tablespoon of lemon juice, a pinch of cayenne, a ¼ teaspoon of salt, one clove of garlic and a pinch of pepper.
In a blender on slow speed, blend together the water and sesame seeds until they reach the consistency of a paste.
Next, add the lemon juice and continue blending. Now, add the remaining ingredients and blend again. Once blended, your finished tahini should be pasty in texture.
Tahini paste is a key ingredient of hummus but can also be eaten on its own as a spread or mix with oil, vinegar and soy sauce for yummy salad dressing.
