I love the grill steak. One of my favorite steaks sauce recipes is a Whiskey Bourbon Sauce made with rosemary and minced charlottes.
Hi! I'm Chef Jason Hill. Steak sauce has come many flavors mushroom steak sauce, red wine steak sauce, to peppercorn steak sauce. Today, we’re making my favorite Whiskey Bourbon Steak Sauce, which uses eight basic ingredients.
To prepare this homemade steak sauce first I get all my ingredients together. Next, I get five tablespoons of butter and I'm going to melt them in a sauce pan over medium heat. After the butter is melted I'm going to throw in two tablespoons of minced charlottes, two tablespoons of fresh rosemary. If you don’t have fresh you can use a tablespoon of dried and add about six peppercorns that I'm going to throw in there as well.
We’re going to cook this down until the charlottes are translusive. Okay, after stirring here for about one minute we’re going to put in a quarter cup of your favorite bourbon and I have my lid over here in case we get any flare ups we’ll put that lid over and put that fire out and we should be all right.
After I've whisked the bourbon in there for about a minute I removed it from the heat we’re going to let it cool for 10 minutes. Now, I strained it into second sauce pot, we’ll just disregard this to make our sauce nice and smooth. All right, after I've had this off the heat now for 10 minutes, I'm going to whisk in a tablespoon of westershire sauce and I also have a half teaspoon of fresh lemon juice in here. Followed by a teaspoon of brown mustard and packed brown sugar.
And you want to whisk in your teaspoon of sugar and your teaspoon of mustard. And ones this starts to simmer we’re going to cover and let it reduce for about five minutes. All right, after about five minutes you can see the sauce is coating the back of your pan and this is about the consistency you want. And you want to keep this warm, when you serve this over your steak. I hope you enjoy this easy steak sauce the next time you're grilling steak thanks for tuning in.
