It does not take a lot of ingredients to make a tasty salmon salad. All you need is a piece of cooked salmon, celery, onions, mayonnaise, salt and pepper. Other people add other things to it but this is a simple, basic plain old salad, just like you would make tuna fish salad.
The first step is to take the salmon and mash it up well. After it’s mashed up, we will add the rest of the ingredients and let me know exactly how much of everything else I put in there and there is the finished salmon salad.
So, we used five ounces of cooked salmon, one and a half tablespoons of finely minced onion, one and a half tablespoons of finely minced celery, one quarter cup of Hellmann’s mayonnaise, a quarter teaspoon of sea salt, and I used an eight a teaspoon of ground black pepper because I like a little bite to it, you could ease down if you like. Optional, you could add a half a teaspoon of these on and you can also put finely minced carrots in there also. Anyway, there is a great way to save and utilize a piece of cooked salmon that normally some people might even throw out, what a shame.
